A Primer on Florida Water
Florida Water is a traditional American cologne and spiritual cleansing agent that has been used for many years in various spiritual and cultural practices. While there are many different recipes for making Florida Water, here is a basic recipe that you can use:
Ingredients:
- 1 pint of 190-proof alcohol (such as Everclear)
- 1/4 cup of dried lavender flowers
- 1/4 cup of dried lemon peel
- 1/4 cup of dried rose petals
- 1/4 cup of dried peppermint leaves
- 1/4 cup of dried verbena leaves
- 1/4 cup of dried sweet grass
- 1/4 cup of vegetable glycerin
- 10 drops of lavender essential oil
- 10 drops of bergamot essential oil
- 10 drops of lemon essential oil
Instructions:
1. Combine the dried herbs in a glass jar and cover them with the alcohol.
2. Shake the jar well and let it sit in a cool, dark place for 2-3 weeks, shaking the jar every few days.
3. After 2-3 weeks, strain the mixture through a cheesecloth or coffee filter into a clean glass container.
4. Add the vegetable glycerin and essential oils and mix well.
5. Store the Florida Water in a cool, dark place and use as needed for spiritual cleansing or as a refreshing cologne.
It's important to note that Florida Water is a spiritual tool and should be used with intention and respect. It's also a highly flammable substance, so be sure to store it safely and away from heat sources.
